My Father's Republican Party

It was a fiscally conservative, caring party and it gave us National Parks, the EPA and the Clean Air Act. I wish it were still around, but as Simpson points out, the reasonable voices are gone, and there's not a whole lot left past the homophobes and hypocrites.

How nice to hear decency and reason! It is sad the the Republican party is no longer what it used to be. California Republicans were known to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal - the exact opposite of what the Rep. party as a whole now seems to stand for.

Yeah. What puzzles me the most is how, after George W. Bush, anyone in the media (or anywhere else) can still let the Republicans slide when they claim to be fiscally conservative!! Ha!! It's a joke! (Only I'm not laughing.)
