Back soon!

You would not believe the email email/imap purgatory I've been trying to fight my way out of the past day or two! (Suffice it to say, I'm done with Mac Mail for this lifetime! Thank dog for gmail!!!)

But I'll be back for Wordless Wednesday...

(Sorry if I haven't responded to your contact... I'll get caught up soon...)

Can't stand Gmail's interface or I'd consider web-only mail, too. Sorry Mail.app failed you.

The interface takes some getting used to, but google labs offers some options that help.

I was considering making the change even before my technical problems surfaced. Being able to check mail from any computer or mobile device is a big incentive when you're on the move (I know that's not an issue for you, being a one-machine person). We had wi-fi troubles this summer while traveling and as a result, I was cut off from email, while Greg was able to just check his mail on whatever computer was around (he made the switch to gmail months ago). Plus, I'm anticipating getting some sort of all-in-one device when I replace my phone (or maybe an ipod touch + phone instead?) and I'd also like to be able to check mail with that.

Anyway, for a number of reasons, it just started to make more sense to keep the mail on a server, instead of on a machine... plus gmail's integration with so many other google features (calendar, contacts, docs) was a motivating factor as well.

All of my e-mail accounts have also always been available via the web and I grant you that that is nice if you have to stay in touch while traveling. :-)

It's great to be able to just quickly check in!

I'm thinking of checking out their rss feed reader as well...
