Stewart and Cramer: A "Spirited Back and Forth"

I was talking to my brother yesterday and discovered that he was not aware of last week's battle between Jim Cramer and Jon Stewart. It also occurred to me that all those friends I have out there who live abroad, or don't have TVs, might have missed out on the fun as well. So, here is what I've collected so far. I'll add more as it becomes available.

Before you start the first video, go check out the video I posted last weekend -- it was what got this whole kerfluffle started.

UPDATE: more from GLH, uggabugga and americablog.
Then there was the followup:

Then Cramer responded:

And Stewart shot back:

And there was more:

And then, there was the interview...

Part 1:

Part 2 (this is awesome! CNBC has really fallen down on the job):

Part 3:

Will that be the end of it? Stay tuned...

Ah, you should have seen JC on Martha Stewart's show last week, prior to the John Stewart grilling. She was quite anit-Stewart. She and JC actually baked a banana cream pie, ostensibly to throw at Jon Stewart.

I can't thank JS enough for this!

Speaking of which: http://punditkitchen.com/2009/03/17/political-pictures-edward-r-murrow-comedians-questions/

Haha! It's funny (and sad) because it's true.

Speaking of which II: I followed some of Beep's links, and caught Jon Stewart guesting the Crossfire show and the Crossfire guys didn't get it. They totally missed why Stewart was asking THEM to ask in-depth questions, and instead demanded Stewart did. The hard-hitting journalists asked the comedian to - oh, never mind. Let me start laughing before I start crying.

That Stewart/Carlson/Begala show was one of the greatest moments of television-meets-theAmerican-media in history, IMHO. And I believe it directly led to the cancellation of that (awful) show. Tucker Carlson still hasn't recovered and Paul Begala has pretty much dropped off the radar.

I don't get CNN so I wasn't aware "Crossfire" was cancelled. I won't miss it. I never did get the point of two talking heads being opposite just to be opposite.

I don't see it either. Vitriol for vitriol's sake. Blah. WTF?

I thought the Stewart vs Cramer was one of the most awesome televised ass-whuppins I have ever seen.

And I LOVE that word "kerfuffle".

I pretty much had no use for Crossfire either but there was ONE moment I liked. After 9-11 during the run up to the Iraq war when W was basically crashing and burning in his attempt to forge a coalition of the "willing", while Tucker Carlson was frothing at the mouth about the French and how we should boycott all French products (remember Freedom Fries?), after telling him what an idiot he was, James Carville pulled out a bottle of French wine and upended it right in front of him, on camera, chugging away. That was priceless.
