A few images from the holiday weekend...

That's G-Dog (above), assembling the oyster stuffing on Thanksgiving. And yes, that's butter you see melting in the pan with the bacon. The recipe came from the November issue of Saveur, and it is the most awesome stuffing ever -- it will definitely be making a return appearance on our table next year.

And here is a strange combo of ingredients (chopped carrots), uncooked food (an assembled apple pie), and hors d'oeuvres (cheese and crackers). The color palette makes a pretty picture, though.

On Friday, G-Dog and I raked the yard. This giant pile of leaves took a few hours to assemble. We broke for lunch, and then spent another hour or so moving it to the road and arranging it neatly along the curb -- and got it all done just in time for the wet and dreary weather that rolled in for the weekend.

And on Saturday, after I visited Holiday in St. Elmo early in the day, G-Dog, Emmie and I went to the Chattanooga Auction House with some friends in the evening. It's always fun to browse through the merchandise (I love the contrast between the antiques and Emmie's accessories)!

I was in St. Elmo too; I wonder if we brushed past each other.

Hrrrrrm. Yes, the oyster stuffing was fantastic, but I'm looking at the pan of bacon and butter and - what was i thinking?!

You were thinking, "I'm going to make some damn fine stuffing!"

Oh, and I was alone and carrying a HUGE blue umbrella (which was kinda embarrassing, but it's what I had in my car).

Looks like a great Thanksgiving weekend!

I must say that the idea of oysters is … not appealing. I'll take my stuffing made the conventional way.

/me waves to G-Dog.
