Check it out!

Via my sister-in-law, IMPALIN’ — Americans Against Sarah Palin for VP. There's a poll running on the site now:

Which of the following issues will turn off moderates and women from Sarah Palin?

• Her anti-choice stance, even in the event of rape or incest.
• Her belief that evolution is bogus and should not be taught in schools.
• Her belief in abstinence-only sex education...
• Her belief that humans have absolutely nothing to do with global warming.
• Her belief in banning books from local libraries.
• Her belief that our mission in Iraq is mandated as per God's will.

Yikes!

Palin told families of special needs kids she would be our advocate in the White House. Since Palin became Governor of Alaska 18 months ago, she cut special education funding by 62%!!!! Wow. Who needs this kind of friend?

Another thing, Alaska has no residential care like an Orange Grove Center for the severely autistic. Can you believe this? This means the disabled have to go live in the lower 48 which means they are cut off from their true families. All that oil money in Alaska, and nothing for the "least among us".

Remember, Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

Those are my choices? I can't go with "sheer incompetence"? Or "all of the above"?

Hurray! I'm always amazed at how fast people can get things up on the web. I'd still be deciphering code...

As for the community organizer vs govenor, I actually was worried that the right wing would fail to notice the true inferrence, and claim Obama was a Messiah figure. Not that they have anything useful to say, of course. The strangest part is they claim Obama is a Messiah figure, yet the right uses religion every single chance it can. Machievelli lives!

Thanks for both the info and the quote - although "notmyrealname' hit the nail on the head with the Messianic line....Failin Palin and McWingnut: Just plain wrong on everything.

I had to bookmark the impalin site. I love the look alike Palin section too. She does resemble "super nanny".

FALSE:

She actually increased the funding by 175%:

http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2008/04/30/35recaps.h27.html

"A second part of the measure raises spending for students with special needs to $73,840 in fiscal 2011, from the current $26,900 per student in fiscal 2008, according to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development."

Augusto, you are incorrect.

Palin increased funding for a teen boot camp program called Alaska Teen Challenge. Juvenile delinquent teens (like Sarah's teenager) should not be in the same class as the mentally retarded, autistic or disabled. She cut funding for pre-school and special ed services. Here you go:

The Annual budget for 2007, which preceded Gov. Palin was $8,265,300.

http://www.gov.state.ak.us/...

The Annual budget for 2008, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

http://www.gov.state.ak.us/...

The Annual budget for 2009, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

http://www.gov.state.ak.us/...

This is a cut in special needs services to children in Alaska of 5,109,300 , or 62%.

I need more clarification on the 62% cut/175% increase. Which is it and can it be fully defined? I want to see exactly where it has been increased or cut. Also take in account that budgets will increase each year regardless. I saw increases listed for fiscal 2002, so I can't say that she has necessarily done anything great.

She wasn't in office in 2002. She has only been a Governor since last January 2007. There was a shift in some money from special education to the Alaska Teen Challenge. Alaska Teen Challenge, the boot camp for 13 years on up, went from 5.5 million to 6.1 million.

The links I have up have now been scrubbed and diverted to a bright and shiny Sarah Palin page.

I know she wasn't gov in 2002. It looks like increases were made even before she was in office was my point, so she didn't do anything special (in my opinion).

I tried the links and they have been changed (hmmm). I wrote factcheck.org to further investigate this. As a former special ed teacher, I want people to know the truth about her regardless.

Personally, I find the pitbull comparison appropriate. Pitbulls attack small children and turn on their owners.

Oh, I am sorry. I didn't mean to be so abrupt. I am trying to figure out where the increases of 173% are.

Still working on it, glad you are getting fact check involved.
