Weekend Reading

If you haven't read The Life and Death of Jesse James by Josh Olson yet*, go check it out. I won't say much about it here, as I don't want to spoil the carefully crafted story for you, but it is a very well-told, cautionary tale (and don't click on any of the links below until after you've read the article).

*you may well have run across it already, as it's been mentioned on a number of blogs, including Big Stupid Tommy, Newscoma, and BoingBoing

Warning: quasi-spoilers..

Wow... what a story. Curiosity got me googling, and "Audrey" has a blog about - JSJ. There's also a video on YouTube that purports to be what lanthe taped at "Audrey's" house. I'm assuming this is ficitional, with the hope of becoming a widely perpetrated hoax. But a great story nonetheless.

You're ever the skeptic, smijer! :-D I'm quite glad you're looking into these things. Hoax or not, though, it was a very well-told tale, and we would all do well to reserve a bit of agnosticism for those we meet online -- at least until they have been vetted in some way.
