It's Raining!

We woke up to actual water falling from the sky this morning and it's one of those wonderful, slow steady rains that looks like it might last all day. I can hear all the plants outside letting out a collective "aaahhhh!!"

It's quite the exciting turn of events. As G-Dog said earlier, "the weird thing is that it seems so weird" for it to be raining.

Haha, your hubby and I are on the same page. All morning, I kept hearing the drips off the neighbor's covered porch, and kept catching myself thinking, "is it all right for everything to be getting wet like this?" It's sad for something as formerly common as rain to be so unsettling.

Ooh! Now we wont have to go without Jack and Coke.

Not that I ever liked drinking that crap anyways, but I'm sure I'm a minority, since everyone in England who asked where I was from knew Tennessee by either Nashville music or Jack Daniels booze.

Yes, we've had some rain, too - with a forecast high of **61** and low of **46** here in San Antonio!

I can hardly believe that it's fall. I hope I don't have to turn on the heater, because it always smells damned awful when you turn it on the first time...

Still, congrats on the rain. May much more fall!

It was weird driving to work in the rain this morning.

My wipers have damn near dry rotted.

Is it still raining, huh? huh?

It was really cold this morning, hard to get out of bed.

This afternoon I opened all the windows and turned on the heater for the first time. Ouch - the stink when all that dust burns up on the heater coils is *noxious*.

Now I'm not going to turn it on again. It's very comfortable inside. But in the morning, when it's in the low 50s inside, I will turn it on again...

It is! Two days of long, slow rain. And I think a little more tomorrow, too!

It hasn't gotten really cold at night here yet, but the forecast is promising 40s during the nights next week! I might finally need to put a blanket on the bed!

Yeah, that first heat of the winter always smells strong, but at least it's a warm, cozy smell, even if it's not an especially good one...

Nice curved line and repetition of form! Good mood shot.
