Aretha Frankensteins

This weekend, I finally made it over to Aretha Frankensteins for the first time since they reopened after their fire. It looks great, much like it did back in the day, and the menu is happily the same. The food was, as always, delish.

The occasion for my visit was a lunch with Fletch, a sometimes local, on-and-off blogger and constant photographer. We played with lenses and talked cameras a bit -- you can see his camera sitting on the table in the foreground in the image below. I took the photo with my camera, using his wide-angle lens, which is pretty cool. The fact that I can even switch out lenses is a novelty for me. It might be a little while before I can start buying lenses, so it was fun to experiment with the possibilities.

I enjoyed meeting you very much and the food was great. It looks like the lens on my camera is stretched out in an oval shape rather than circular. I guess that's what wide angles do on the edges, or my lens is screwed up. I'm just glad you didn't take a pic of my slob self.
