Friday Creature

This beautiful shepherd is a Belgian Tervuren named Xander. He's a recent addition to my neighborhood (I'm no longer the new kid on the block!), and yes, he's as soft as he looks. I think this photo captures the intelligence, curiosity and energy in his eyes. He's the nephew of a champion flyball player, so perhaps he has some training and competition in his future. As always, there are more dogs and creatures of all sorts boarding over on this week's modulator's ark.

Today's puppy was supposed to be last week's creature, but I ran into wifi problems while I was out of town, so he was postponed. I'll get to the bird pics I brought back from Florida next week, though. I hope your Thanksgiving break was a good one, and that your weekend promises to be wonderful as well!

Rabbit, rabbit!

XanMan! We won't be able to let Tycho have any computer time or he'll be jealous that his nephew has been spotlighted on the World Wide Web!

He looks cute and fuzzy there, but we've noticed that he seems to be an Angry Pisser. Which is to say, even if he went peepee outside 5 minutes ago, if he's left alone in the kitchen for any time at all--you come back to a puddle as punishment. It's not the most eloquent way of expressing yourself, but it's effective. I wonder if Wikipedia has an entry on Angry Pissers and how to cure them?

Scott,

I found a link that might help you with Xander's wrathful urination

My boy, Cris (link), is Xander's uncle, so it may seem biased, but isn't this just the cutest thing you've ever seen? Xander is growing up to be a stunningly beautiful and very sweet young dog. More pix, please!!

Bev is correct, Cris is Xander's uncle, on his mother's side and Tycho is his uncle on his father's side. Just didn't want it to seem like there was a dispute in parentage! So far, I'd say Xander got more of Cris's genes than Tycho. He's so much calmer at 7 months than Tycho is at 8 years! Cris is gentle and super sweet, but is also an awesome agility dog, among his many other talents!

Xander is awesome, and the photo of your Cris, Bev, is a great one! I wish I could get a dog to pose as well! I've got another more recent image of Xander that I'll share some time soon...
