Rumor has it...

... that a P. F. Chang's will be opening in Chattanooga some time this year. If I could have added one restaurant to our local board of fare, that is definitely the one I would have picked -- I've planned our frequent trips between here and western New York so that we'd hit the Chang's in Cincinnati at mealtime, and it was so worth it. The legendary crab wontons alone are worth the trip.

The only downside is that they may be located out at Hamilton Place rather than downtown, where I'd much rather spend an evening. Traffic around the beast that is the mall is always a nightmare and there's no other reason I'd ever go out there except to dine. But hopefully it will be situated in such a way as to make it easy to get in and out without having to mix it up with the shopping center traffic.

The upside is that they've wisely stayed out of politics while still showing a conscience, so it's apparently a respectable place to drop some quatloos if that's an issue for you!

Woot!

While I do prefer downtown over the mall area (aside from the fact that I live near Hamilton Place, so it's a quick drive), I absolutely hate giving Republic Parking $5 of my money to park while I eat.

I've been lucky enough lately that I can hit a meter and pay 50 cents, but there are those times when I'm not so lucky. In this respect, I much prefer restaurants near the mall where there is a nice FREE parking lot.

I will go to P.F. Chang's no matter where they put it... The one in Nashville is just outside downtown, and the one in Birmingham is at the entrance of a very nice outdoor mall...

This news makes me very happy.

Unfortunately you can't see me, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Perhaps we have a Pulse outing there...
